  • Baseball: Colonels top Webster...

    Oldham County baseball defeated Webster County 9-1 Tuesday, April 2 in Buckner.

    Deaton Oak went 3 for 3 with two steals, one run and an RBI. Austin Reed went 1 for 3 with an RBI. Matthew Teague went 2 for 2 with two runs and two steals.

    Four pitchers combined to allow three hits and one run for Oldham County.

  • Dragon tennis starts season 4-2

    South Oldham boys tennis has started the spring winners of four of its first six matches. The Dragons defeated Simon Kenton 5-0 last week.

    Wes Tuggle and Cole Thacker both won their singles matches 6-0, 6-0 while Rontih Bellary won his singles match in a third-set tiebreaker.

    North Oldham track and field hosted the North Oldham Invitational meet Thursday, March 29 in Goshen.

    Girls

    Oldham County won the 13-team meet with 127.50 points. North Oldham finished second with 110 points. South Oldham was ninth with 28 points.

    Kentucky Flash outlast Music City Kings

    The Kentucky Flash, La Grange’s semi-professional basketball team, defeated the Music City Kings 101-84 March 17 at the La Grange Community Center. Stuart Jackson scored a team-high 24 points. Tevin Andrews added 16 points.

  • Baseball: Trinity edges Oldham

    Trinity (Louisville) baseball remained undefeated for its eighth victory of the year with a 4-3 win over Oldham County in St. Matthews Wednesday, March 27. 

    Daylen Lile drove in the game-winning run for Trinity in the bottom of the seventh inning.

    Lady Colonels start year 3-0

    Oldham County softball had an impressive showing in its first week of the season.

    The Lady Colonels opened the season with a 14-0 victory over Shelby County. Elana Ornelas had a home run and triple while Kalee Rose and Abby White combined for a five-inning shutout.

    Oldham County hosted its annual Kick Off Classic Thursday, March 22 in Buckner.

    Boys

    South Oldham and Oldham County tied for fourth with 60 points. North Oldham placed sixth with 59 points. Trinity (Louisville) won the 10-team meet with 127 points.

John was way more than just about the Derby but that’s the way he was most comfortable communicating with us. And boy, he never disappointed!
