    GOSHEN – The North Oldham Middle School Mustangs are in the midst of a busy track season with several school and meet records being broken.

    NOMS competed in March at the St. Pius Invitational with Zach Mitchell breaking the school record for high jump with a leap of 5-4.

    CRESTWOOD – The final goal for South Oldham High School senior Lauren Jones’ high school basketball career fell into place Tuesday.

    Jones, a 5-foot-9 guard, has been named to the 2008 Kentucky All-Star team for the annual series with Indiana in June.

    OCHS came out the clear winner on the day with wins over South Oldham and North Oldham. SOHS claimed a win over NOHS as the Mustangs went 0-2 n the day.

    GOSHEN – The North Oldham High School Lady Mustangs tennis team has opened the season with five straight dual match wins in their quest for a fourth straight Eighth Region championship.

    The Lady Mustangs, who finished tied for fourth in the state championships last year, defeated South Oldham 4-1 last Thursday and followed that win up with a decisive 5-0 win over Fern Creek on Monday.

    GOSHEN – Nancy Martin has had some thrilling moments in her life, but her induction into the Dawhares/Kentucky High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame April 12 may have beat them all.

    “It was beyond anything that I had expected,” Martin said. “It was a very, very nice night.”

    LOUISVILLE – There’s plenty of local connections to the Revolution Fight League’s Hostile Takeover ultimate fighting card Saturday at Broadbent Arena.

    RFL president Bryan Van Houten grew up in Goshen and graduated in 1992 from South Oldham High School while RFL fighter Mike Yanez was a standout wrestler at SOHS and a 1992 graduate.
