    CRESTWOOD — South Oldham athletics director Mitchell Irvin had a short time table to find a new girls basketball coach when former coach Jessica Conner stepped down from the position just one year after taking the job. It was late September with the start of the regular season two months away, and Irvin needed to make a quick decision.

    He’s thankful the first person he called agreed to take on a new challenge.

    He enjoyed it a little more last Saturday.

    Fryman pulled away from teammate Alex McClarty in the last mile of the Class 2-A, Region 3 cross country meet to win the individual regional title and helped the Mustangs claim a second straight team championship Saturday at Seneca Park in Louisville.
