  • Roseberry runs over Mustangs...

SHELBYVILLE — North Oldham finds itself in uncharted territory.

The Mustangs need to win next week at Franklin County to have any chance of making the playoffs, a streak they’ve held since 2007.

In order to do that, North has to play well on both sides of the ball.

North showed signs of improvement Friday night, but had no answer for Collins running back Naseasn Roseberry in a 42-24 loss to the Titans in Shelbyville.

The senior Wirth scored two second half goals to overcome a one goal deficit to South Oldham to help the Colonels claim the District 29 title in a 2-1 win Thursday night in Crestwood.

  • Pratt: South Oldham football has...

That game was supposed to be the tricky one.

In one corner you had the South Oldham Dragons riding a five game win streak behind its stingy defense and a disciplined offense.

In the other corner is the mysterious success of Bullitt East. Having lost the first five games of the season – and not just lost, but it got whopped – it had suddenly won two straight district games rather convincingly.
