  • Colonels’ wrestling team brings...

BUCKNER — Aaron Riordan stood in the briefly empty wrestling room next to the edge of the mat trying to digest events from the weekend.

The room is quiet at the time, but two minutes prior, he had just walked out of a pep rally where the entire Oldham County High School student body celebrated a feat that hadn’t been accomplished in over 20 years: a team state championship.

  • Boys' Basketball: Williams...

GOSHEN – When Grant Williams took the court at North Oldham, there was a look in his eyes which South Oldham coach Steve Simpson had seen only one other time this season.

Thankfully, it was a good memory for South Oldham in a similar hostile environment and what the coach saw was a senior in the zone on a mission to seal a deal that loomed for weeks.

  • Boys Basketball: Oldham County...

BUCKNER – Oldham County is looking for ways to maintain consistency. The Colonels hope they have found that method in perhaps the simplest of terms. It goes back to the reason they even play the game of basketball: to have fun.

Oldham County looked the part Friday night in a 72-50 victory over longtime rival Shelby County in a game the Colonels had control of from the opening tip.
