     LEXINGTON – Cole Dowdy could hear his coach yelling at him heading into the last half mile. South Oldham coach Stan Clark is a man of few words, and in that moment in time, a few words is all Dowdy needed to make the final push.

    “Coming through the second paddock, he screamed to Tanner and I, ‘This is your moment. This is your moment,’ It really pumped me up.” Dowdy said.

    In record time, Cole captured his moment.

     LEXINGTON – David St. Louis spoke with Drew LaMaster Friday night before the state cross country meet about the dynasty North Oldham has built at this level.

    St. Louis, the current boys’ coach, was telling LaMaster, the coach from 2006-11, about how long the streak could go.

    “I said, ‘We can keep this this up and we might make it interesting since St. Henry won (11) in a row,’” St. Louis said.

    North Oldham still has a ways to go, but it’s well on the way.

  • KHSAA State Football Playoffs:...

    CRESTWOOD — South Oldham learned quickly that the playoffs won’t offer an easy opponents. Once the Dragons learned that lesson early, they settled down and took control.

    South Oldham put together a strong second half to defeat Southern 35-20 in the first round of the KHSAA Class 5-A State Playoffs Friday night in Crestwood.

    The Dragons scored 21-straight to break a tie at halftime to seal a second round playoff spot next week against Fairdale at 7:30 p.m at Dragon Stadium.
