    Oldham County softball is back in the state tournament.

    The Lady Colonels defeated South Oldham 8-2 in Eighth Region final May 28 at Simon Kenton High School to win the regional title for the second straight year.

    Oldham County softball claimed its ninth straight district title with a 13-7 victory over South Oldham in Goshen May 22. After trailing by six runs, the Lady Colonels erupted for 13 runs in the fourth and fifth inning in the District 29 final.

    The Lady Colonels comeback started with an adjustment at the plate.

    Oldham County’s Elana Ornelas and South Oldham’s Luke Morrison represented District 29 as the Athletes of the Year for the Eighth Region Athletic Directors Association.
