    Oldham County softball defeated Shelby County 1-0 in extra innings in the first round of the Eighth Region tournament hosted at Henry County Monday May 28.

  • Zaubi commits to U of L football

    Former South Oldham quarterback Drew Zaubi has accepted a preferred walk-on spot on the University of Louisville football team, which he announced on Twitter Thursday May 24. The three-year starter passed for 4,699 yards and 65 touchdowns while rushing for 1,134 yards and 24 scores as part of the winningest class in South Oldham history.

  • Softball: South tops North

    It’s been a gradual improvement in the past three years, and finally, South Oldham softball will be competing in the Eighth Region tournament.

    A three-run sixth inning and an impressive performance by pitcher Jordan Poppleton sealed a spot in the regional play for the first time since 2013 as South Oldham defeated North Oldham 3-0 in the District 29 semi-finals.

    It took three days to be completed, but the Lady Colonels assured themselves a spot in the Eighth Region tournament. Elana Ornelas hit two runs as Oldham County softball defeated Trimble County 14-4 in the District 29 semi-finals Wednesday May 23.

    Sean Flanagan’s Elite Performance Football Training Camp is back for its second year.

    There wasn’t a single participant that attended the inaugural camp that couldn’t say at the end of each day that they didn’t learn something new or didn’t feel like they got better, Flanagan said.

    Playing with a broken finger protected in a splint, North Oldham’s Katie Beavin, who was named to the all-state team, reached the round of eight with three match victories.

  • Class 3-A state meet results

    The KHSAA track and field 3-A state championship meet was hosted in Lexington Saturday May 19.

    Oldham County finished 14th of the 43 teams that had runners place with 17.5 points.

    100 meter dash- Oldham County’s Haedin Goldsmith placed 15th with a time of 12.92.

  • Colonels place at state meet

    Several runners from Oldham County placed in the KHSAA track and field 3-A state championship meet Saturday May 19.

    Jacob Brizendine finished sixth in the 3,200 meter run. Hannah Henage and Savannah Cagle placed seventh and eighth, respectively, in the girls race.

    Josie Despain tied for third in the high jump event.

  • Boys Lacrosse: South falls in...

    After reaching the state semi-finals for the third straight year, South Oldham boys lacrosse fell in the round of four to a Louisville private school power for the third year in a row.

    Trinity (Louisville) defeated South Oldham 14-3 in the state semi-finals hosted at St. Xavier (Louisville) Wednesday May 16.
