    North Oldham, South Oldham and Oldham County combined to have one of the best year’s athletically in recent memory with teams and individuals that place, including five individual state championships. 

  • Arterburn prepares to represent...

    Kaeley Arterburn, a 2017 graduate of Oldham County High School, will represent the United States in the Saddle Seat World Cup. Hosted in the Lexington this year, the Saddle Seat World Cup is a bi-annual international competition dating back to the 1980s, and now, as many as seven nations compete for the titles.

  • OCMS runners continue success

     Oldham County Middle School (OCMS) became the first school in history to win both the cross country and track and field state championships in the same school year in 2016-17. The Lady Colonel cross country and track and field team did it once against in 2017-18.

    Coach Courtney Wayland answered questions about the team’s continued success.

    Oldham County Middle School (OCMS) girls track and field team won its second straight state championship at the KTCCCA Middle School state championship hosted at the University of Louisville last month.


    OCMS won the 59-team meet with 44 points. NOMS placed seventh with 27.5 points. EOMS was 42nd with five points. SOMS placed 53rd with two points.

    Highlands baseball defeated South Oldham 4-2 in the first round of the KHSAA state tournament hosted at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in Lexington Friday June 8.

  • Softball: Lady Colonels win...

    Oldham County softball defeated Bourbon County 9-7 in the opening round of the KHSAA state tournament in Owensboro Thursday June 7. The win sends the Lady Colonels into the winner’s bracket of the double-elimination tournament, the first time Oldham County has won its first round game in the state tournament since 2007.

    After four straight years of losses to Anderson County in the regional tournament, including three games by one run, Oldham County softball didn’t have to worry about that foe in the 2018 Eighth Region tournament.

    South Oldham baseball is going to the state tournament for the first time in program history after defeating North Oldham 5-2 in the Eighth Region final Saturday June 2.
