    It was a successful year in sports during the 2018-19 academic calendar as teams and individuals from Oldham County, South Oldham and North Oldham won regional titles and placed at state competitions. Here are a few highlights from the year in sports:

    Runners interested in joining the South Oldham High School cross country team for the 2019-20 school year should contact coach Stan Clark at stanrunner@aol.com or call (502) 592-4834 for any questions. Practices begin prior to the start of school. Email Clark to receive all information to be part of the team.

    Baseball players from North Oldham, South Oldham and Oldham County were selected for the 29th All-District team for their performances in the regular season.

    South lacrosse wins Scholastic League

    South Oldham fifth and sixth grade boys lacrosse won the Louisville Scholastic League regular season and tournament championship in May.

    The team went 8-0 in the regular season with 55 goals scored and 20 goals allowed. South Oldham went 3-0 in the tournament with 24 goals and five goals allowed.

  • Brizendine wins state title

    A path of perseverance ended with a state championship.

    Jacob Brizendine dealt with injuries, set backs and doubts, but the Oldham County senior captured the state title in the 1600 meter run at the Class 3-A state meet Saturday, June 1 in Lexington.

  • Trinity baseball tops North in...

    Trinity (Louisville) baseball defeated North Oldham 8-3 in the semistate in Louisville Saturday, June 1. Trinity held North Oldham scoreless for the first four innings and built a seven-run lead.

    Justin Doyle pitched 4 and 1/3 innings and allowed seven runs for North Oldham. Alex Atkins and Logan Beard went 1 for 4 with an RBI.
