    Steve Wilson won his fourth United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) National Championship last weekend at Live Oak International in Ocala, Fla.

    The Oldham County resident, owner of Hermitage Farm and co-founder of 21c Museum Hotels, became the oldest drive in the United States to win four titles.

    North Oldham track and field hosted the Cabin Fever Relays Saturday, March 9 in Goshen.


    North Oldham won the five-team meet with 21 points. Oldham County finished second with 14 points while South Oldham was fifth with three points.

    After defeating Anderson County in early December, Oldham County girls basketball fell to the Lady Bearcats 68-60 in the Eighth Region quarterfinals Wednesday, Feb. 27 at Owen County. Anderson County capitalized on missed shots and several turnovers to open the game with a 25-5 run.

    Spencer County boys basketball defeated South Oldham 75-71 Tuesday Feb. 26 at Henry County in the Eighth Region quarterfinals. The Dragons couldn't overcome a nine-point fourth quarter deficit, taking the lead briefly and tying the score before Spencer County scored six of the final eight points in the last two-and-a-half minutes.

    The result?

    A game-winning shot as time expired by sophomore Sam Campbell for a 51-50 overtime victory against Collins in the quarterfinals of the Eighth Region tournament Monday, Feb. 25 at Henry County.

    Jones signs with Mount Union

    Oldham County’s Lucas Jones signed to play football for University of Mount Union last week.

    The school in Ohio was the first college to contact Jones after a family member started sending highlight tapes to coaches.

    Jones attended a camp there in the summer.
