    It took some time, but South Oldham girls basketball perimeter shooting found its moment and used it to defeat Oldham County 42-28 in Crestwood Friday night. Skylar Sahatjian had a game-high 16 points while Lexi Bowlden had nine points and 10 rebounds for South Oldham. Aliyah Swanson finished with eight points and Sophia Head added seven points for Oldham County.

    The first of three intra-county rivalry basketball games tip off Friday night as South Oldham boys and girls basketball hosts Oldham County. The girls’ game begins at 6 p.m. and the boys’ game will follow.

    South Oldham girls basketball led the entire game as it defeated Southern 73-31 Friday in the final day of the Southern Holiday Jamboree. Payton Herold finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds and five assists while Maggie Smith had 10 points and five rebounds. Lexi Von Feldt had a team-high 11 rebounds along with eight points.
  • Boys Basketball: South edges McCracken County
    South Oldham boys basketball weathered a strong run by McCracken County to begin the second half as the Dragons won 70-54 in the second round of the Jeff and Julie Beyke Classic hosted in Crestwood. Devin Young had a team-high 18 points and six rebounds while Peyton Hicks scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Jake Vincent added 15 points.
  • Zaubi among state's best seniors at all-star game
    South Oldham’s Drew Zaubi was selected to the annual Best of the Bluegrass all-star football game earlier this month. The senior quarterback completed seven passes for 93 yards and the Louisville area team to its only scoring drive against the Kentucky team.

    The signs of fatigue were there, but South Oldham girls basketball outlasted Shelby County for a 62-37 victory Saturday in Crestwood, a day after a road trip against Fern Creek. The Dragons used a 12-0 third quarter run to seal a win over an Eighth Region opponent.

Devin Young, Peyton Hicks and Luke Morrison combined for 70 points in an 86-75 victory in what coach Steve Simpson said was the Dragons’ best play game of the year.

    A fourth quarter scoring drought doomed South Oldham girls basketball Thursday night as Floyd Central defeated the Dragons 59-49. After leading 46-43 with 4:10 left, South Oldham didn’t score another point until a 3-pointer by Skylar Sahatjian with seven seconds left, following a 16-0 run by Floyd Central.
