  • Girls Basketball: South finishes regular season
    It wasn't pretty, but South Oldham girls basketball grinded out a 54-46 victory over Presentation in its final game of the regular season. After what South Oldham coach Gene Heffington called a “lackadaisical” ending the first half, he challenged his team to play with more effort and determination.
  • Boys Basketball: North Bullitt defeats South
    Several scoring droughts doomed South Oldham boys basketball in a 75-61 loss to North Bullitt Monday Feb. 12 in Crestwood. Devin Young had a team-high 21 points and Luke Morrison added 16 points for South Oldham. Peyton Hicks finished with seven points while Ben Johnson had eight points.
  • Boys Basketball: Central Hardin defeats South
    South Oldham boys basketball couldn’t string together enough stops in its second half comeback attempt against Central Hardin, falling 70-68 Thursday Feb. 8 in Crestwood. Devin Young had a team-high 20 points and Peyton Hicks finished with 16. Luke Morrison added 13 points.
  • Girls Basketball: South wins on senior night
    South Oldham girls basketball celebrated the careers of five seniors in a pregame ceremony and then defeated Bullitt Central 63-23 Tuesday Feb. 6 in Crestwood. Jenna Ormerod and Zoey Holland each scored nine points as the Dragons never trailed. “We have a good group of seniors,” South Oldham coach Gene Heffington said. “It is always an emotional night.”
  • Boys Basketball: North and South clash
    North Oldham boys basketball made six of eight free throws in the final 40 seconds to hold off South Oldham for a 56-51 victory in Goshen Tuesday.
  • Girls Basketball: South defeats North
    Using two dominant first half runs, South Oldham girls basketball completed its sweep of District 29 competition in regular season play, the first time since 2013, following a 69-50 victory over North Oldham Tuesday Jan. 30 in Goshen. The Dragons attained the number one seed for the district tournament, which will be hosted at North Oldham in late February.
  • Girls Basketball: South rolls Seneca
    South Oldham girls basketball had no problem dispatching Seneca 80-18 Saturday in Crestwood. The 62-point Dragon win was their largest margin of victory this season. Payton Herold scored a game-high 17 points, all in the first quarter, while Brooke Short and Savannah Yost each finished with 12 points.
  • Girls Basketball: Collins edges South
    Length and size led Collins girls basketball to a 45-44 victory over South Oldham Thursday in Crestwood. Neither team played a clean fourth quarter filled with turnovers, but two free throws from Olivia Federle with 3:12 left gave Collins the lead for good. Federle added a driving layup with 1:15 left to extend the visitors to two possessions.
  • Girls Basketball: South tops Trimble
    For the first time since 2014, South Oldham girls basketball defeated Trimble County, a 61-18 win Thursday night in Bedford. The victory, South Oldham’s second district win of the season, assures the Dragons of at least a number two seed in the District 29 tournament in late February.
  • Boys Basketball: Collins defeats South
    Collins boys basketball had little trouble scoring as South Oldham allowed its season high in points in the visiting Titans’ 89-73 victory Tuesday night in Crestwood. Devin Young had a team-high 20 points and six rebounds while Ben Johnson scored 15 points for South Oldham.
