  • New direction for Lady Colonels with Robson


    It’s a bit of a changing of the guard, to a previous guard, sort of, for Oldham County girls soccer. After two seasons as the Lady Colonels’ head coach, Libbey Smith left for the same position at Sacred Heart, allowing former Colonels’ boys soccer coach Mark Robson to take the Lady Colonel head coaching position.

  • Experienced Colonels look for return to state


    A year after reaching the state tournament for the first time since 2011, Oldham County boys soccer is loaded with a 14-member senior class headlined by All-State midfielder Luke O’Hara. The Colonels have reached the regional final and won the District 29 title three straight seasons with healthy contributions from the group of now seniors.

  • Softball: Lady Colonels win opening state round

    Oldham County softball defeated Bourbon County 9-7 in the opening round of the KHSAA state tournament in Owensboro Thursday June 7. The win sends the Lady Colonels into the winner’s bracket of the double-elimination tournament, the first time Oldham County has won its first round game in the state tournament since 2007.

  • Lady Colonels back in Owensboro

    After four straight years of losses to Anderson County in the regional tournament, including three games by one run, Oldham County softball didn’t have to worry about that foe in the 2018 Eighth Region tournament.

  • Nethery announced as new Lady Colonel coach

    Oldham County announced Chris Nethery as the head coach of the Lady Colonels’ basketball team Thursday May 31. Nethery, who coached as an assistant at Gallatin County for the past two seasons after a long tenure as Eminence’s head coach, takes over for Chris Jefferson, who directed the Lady Colonel program for two years.

  • Softball: Oldham and Collins regional final

    Oldham County softball is going to the state tournament for the first time since 2013.

    The Lady Colonels defeated Collins 4-2 in the Eighth Region final Wednesday May 30. Kalee Rose pitched a complete game, allowing two runs on eight hits while striking out three. Taylor Jackson hit a two-run home run and Elana Ornelas went 2-for-4 with a run scored. 

  • Softball: Oldham advances in regionals

    Oldham County softball defeated Shelby County 1-0 in extra innings in the first round of the Eighth Region tournament hosted at Henry County Monday May 28.

  • Softball: Oldham trounces Trimble in districts

    It took three days to be completed, but the Lady Colonels assured themselves a spot in the Eighth Region tournament. Elana Ornelas hit two runs as Oldham County softball defeated Trimble County 14-4 in the District 29 semi-finals Wednesday May 23.
