  • Colonel basketball seeks return to state

    A year after winning the Eighth Region, Oldham County boys basketball is going to develop experience in season as it looks to return to the state tournament.

  • Experienced core lead Lady Colonel basketball

    Nearly all of the production from one of the best seasons in recent memory returns for Oldham County girls basketball. Tasked with continuing the success is Chris Nethery, who was announced was the head coach in May.

    Nethery transitions to the girls’ game after a long tenure as Eminence’s boys head coach. All five starters from a year ago return for Oldham County.

  • Fern Creek ends Colonels' season

    A stifling defense silenced Oldham County football as Fern Creek defeated the Colonels 24-8 in the second round of the Class 5-A playoffs Friday, Nov. 9 in Louisville. The Colonels' only points came on a defensive touchdown with two minutes left in the fourth quarter.

  • Colonel football advances in playoffs

    Oldham County football advanced to the second round of the Class 5-A playoffs with a 50-14 win over Doss Friday, Nov. 2 in Buckner. In its first home football game since 2010, Oldham County jumped to a three touchdown first-half lead and finished with nearly 400 yards of offense.

  • Lady Colonel cross country wins state title

    A state championship was the only way the season should have ended for Oldham County girls cross country.

    The progression was evident and the dominance apparent.

  • Colonel football romps J'town

    In an ideal offense, Lucas Jones and Juan Tapia share a balanced work load for Oldham County football. The two running backs combined for 227 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Colonels rushing attack to 336 yards in a 42-6 victory over Jeffersontown (J’town) Friday, Oct. 26 in Louisville.

  • Head sisters sign with KCU

    Alexis and Sophia Head will continue to play together.

    The twin sisters signed to play basketball at Kentucky Christian University Friday Oct. 12. Alexis and Sophia wanted to continue their careers collegiately, but were in search for a school that would take them both.

  • OCHS Volleyball coach passes away

    Oldham County volleyball coach Vince McDonough passed away Sunday Oct. 21. His daughter, Sarah McDonough, announced his passing on Facebook Monday Oct. 22.

  • Colonel football trounces Bullitt East

    Oldham County football improved to 8-1 with a 52-0 victory over Bullitt East Friday Oct. 19 in Buckner. The Colonels held the visiting Chargers to 114 total yards of offense in their third shut out of the season.

  • Colonel soccer advances to regional final

    Oldham County boys soccer is in the regional final for the fourth straight year.

    Behind a persistent offensive attack, the Colonels defeated Simon Kenton 4-0 in the Eighth Region semi-finals Wednesday Oct. 17 in Shelbyville. Aaron Cook scored two goals while Seth Christensen and Alex Pacheco each scored for the Colonels.
