  • Nethery announced as new Lady Colonel coach

    Oldham County announced Chris Nethery as the head coach of the Lady Colonels’ basketball team Thursday May 31. Nethery, who coached as an assistant at Gallatin County for the past two seasons after a long tenure as Eminence’s head coach, takes over for Chris Jefferson, who directed the Lady Colonel program for two years.

  • Softball: Oldham and Collins regional final

    Oldham County softball is going to the state tournament for the first time since 2013.

    The Lady Colonels defeated Collins 4-2 in the Eighth Region final Wednesday May 30. Kalee Rose pitched a complete game, allowing two runs on eight hits while striking out three. Taylor Jackson hit a two-run home run and Elana Ornelas went 2-for-4 with a run scored. 

  • Softball: Oldham advances in regionals

    Oldham County softball defeated Shelby County 1-0 in extra innings in the first round of the Eighth Region tournament hosted at Henry County Monday May 28.

  • Softball: Oldham trounces Trimble in districts

    It took three days to be completed, but the Lady Colonels assured themselves a spot in the Eighth Region tournament. Elana Ornelas hit two runs as Oldham County softball defeated Trimble County 14-4 in the District 29 semi-finals Wednesday May 23. 

  • Colonels place at state meet

    Several runners from Oldham County placed in the KHSAA track and field 3-A state championship meet Saturday May 19.

    Jacob Brizendine finished sixth in the 3,200 meter run. Hannah Henage and Savannah Cagle placed seventh and eighth, respectively, in the girls race.

    Josie Despain tied for third in the high jump event.

  • Team focus leads Lady Colonels to regional title

    Behind a team effort, Oldham County girls track and field won the Class 3-A Region 4 title May 8 at Assumption in Louisville. The Lady Colonels had 119 points, 31 points ahead of second-place finisher Sacred Heart Academy.

  • Baseball: Oldham blasts Atherton

    After three straight losses in the Louisville Invitational Tournament (LIT), Oldham County baseball got back on track with a 13-3 victory over Atherton in Buckner Monday April 30.

  • Softball: Oldham rallies by North

    A dramatic ending seemed the only appropriate way for a game filled with momentum swings and an extra inning between two rivals to come to a close.

    Allie Williams caught a fly ball in centerfield and threw out what would have been the game-tying run at home to seal a 4-3 victory for Oldham County softball over North Oldham in Goshen Thursday April 26.

  • Girls Lacrosse: Oldham slows North

    A patient offensive attack helped Oldham County girls lacrosse defeated North Oldham 9-3 Monday April 23 in Crestwood.

    Cheyanne Baze had three goals and an assist while Haylee Stelzig had two goals for Oldham County. Shannen Roy scored three goals for North Oldham.

  • Baseball: Oldham silences Ballard

    Behind a dominating performance on the mound and timely hitting, Oldham County baseball defeat Ballard 10-0 Saturday April 21 in Buckner.

    “We are exciting that everybody is getting back on track,” Oldham County coach Levi Bristow said. “It was a great effort all the way around.”
