  • Boys Basketball: Oldham wins Hoops tournament title

    Another strong first quarter, another victory for Oldham County boys basketball. The Colonels defeated John Hardin 88-60 Saturday in Buckner to claim the Pegasus Sports Network Best in Hoops tournament title. Jackson Gibson had a team-high 35 points, shooting 10 of 10 from the field and 14 of 15 from the free throw line, and Travis Henderson finished with 25 points to lead the Colonels.

  • Boys Basketball: Oldham throttles Warren Central

    Oldham County boys basketball overwhelmed Warren Central in the first quarter on the way to a 71-39 victory Friday night in the second day of the Pegasus Sports Network Best in Hoops tournament hosted in Buckner. Travis Henderson posted a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds while Jackson Gibson finished with 16 points and five assists.

  • Girls Basketball: Oldham rolls Western

    Oldham County girls basketball had no problem dispatching Western in the second day of the Lady Cat Classic at Waggener High School. The Colonels defeated Western 75-6 as 10 different players from Oldham County scored. Sophia Head had a team-high 12 points while Alexis Head finished with 11 points. Lauren Bell and Kennedi Roehrig added nine points apiece.

  • Boys Basketball: Oldham rallies past Walton-Verona

    The match up between two of the Eighth region’s preseason favorites lived up to the billing. A 3-pointer by Zach Larimore with 39.7 seconds left capped a six-point comeback in the final two minutes as Oldham County defeated Walton-Verona 53-51 in Buckner Friday night.

  • Girls Basketball: Anderson topples Oldham

    Anderson County girls basketball used a strong third quarter performance to defeat Oldham County 68-52 Tuesday night in Buckner. In the Eighth Region match up, the visiting Bearcats outscored the Colonels 20-6 in the third quarter, forcing turnovers that led to transition points.

  • Boys Basketball: Oldham cruises by DeSales

    Jackson Gibson and Travis Henderson combined for 44 points as Oldham County boys basketball used a third quarter surge to cruise by DeSales 84-60 Saturday night in Buckner.

    Gibson led the way with as an efficient of a game as any. The guard had 26 points on 11 of 14 shooting from the field, adding five rebounds and five assists to go along with five steals.

  • Boys Basketball: Oldham downs Trimble County

    After an even six-and-a-half minutes in the first quarter, Oldham County boys basketball went on a decisive 14-2 run to take a double-digit lead which it never relinquished. The Colonels defeated Trimble County 90-47 as all 15 players that appeared for Oldham County scored in the first district game of the season for either team.

  • Girls Basketball: Oldham romps Trimble County

    It’s not the same Trimble County girls basketball team that rule District 29, winning three consecutive titles from 2015-17, but that doesn’t lessen Oldham County’s 75-22 victory over the Raiders Friday in Buckner. The win is the Colonels’ first against Trimble County since Dec. 13, 2013

  • Core group of seniors headline group of returners


    Under coach Coy Zerhusen, Oldham County boys basketball will be a defense first team every year. The Colonels want to apply pressure to get opponents away from their comfort zone, but it could look different this year.
