  • Boys Basketball: Oldham defeats Trimble in districts

    Oldham County basketball defeated Trimble County 83-46 Tuesday Feb. 20 in the semi-finals of the District 29 tournament hosted at North Oldham High School in Goshen. The victory seals a spot in the Eighth Region tournament next week for the Colonels, their eighth-straight appearance, and advances Oldham County to the district final against the winner of North Oldham and South Oldham.

  • Girls Basketball: Oldham romps North Bullitt

    Two days after suffering its largest loss of the season, Oldham County girls basketball responded with a dominating performance against North Bullitt, routing the visitors 69-50 in Buckner Thursday Feb. 15. In their final game of the regular season, the Colonels never trailed and held a double-digit lead for most of the contest.

  • Boys Basketball: Oldham wins on senior night

    After celebrating the careers of five seniors in a pregame ceremony, Oldham County boys basketball won its fifth straight game with a 86-69 victory over Bardstown Tuesday Feb. 13 in Buckner. Travis Henderson scored a team-high 31 points and Dre Brewer finished with 12 points and five assists.

    Zach Larimore added 17 points.

  • Boys Basketball: Oldham edges Simon Kenton

    Oldham County boys basketball used an early fourth quarter run to edge past Simon Kenton 86-79 Friday Feb. 2 in Buckner. The Colonels scored the first nine points of the final period of play and never allowed the visiting Pioneers to close within two possessions.

    Travis Henderson had a team-high 19 points and Zach Larimore finished with 18.

  • Colonel wrestling runner-up in state duals

    Oldham County wrestling finished as the runner-up of the State Dual Championship last weekend at Lindsey Wilson College. Saint Xavier of Louisville (St. X) defeated Oldham County 34-21 in the first-place dual match.

  • Girls Basketball: Oldham beats Atherton

    A cold-shooting start didn’t prevent Oldham County girls basketball from cruising to a 59-32 victory over Atherton Monday, improving its winning streak to seven. Madison Clark had a team-high 14 points and Alexis Head finished with eight points and four assists.

  • Girls Basketball: Oldham defeats North

    Behind a suffocating third quarter defensive performance, Oldham County girls basketball defeated North Oldham 53-36 Tuesday in Goshen. The Colonels held North Oldham to one point in the third quarter as Oldham County outscored the Mustangs by 13 points in the decisive eight-minute stretch.

  • Oldham basketball hosts North in doubleheader

    Oldham County girls and boys basketball hosts North Oldham for the second of three intra-county rivalry double headers Friday. The girls’ game begins at 6 p.m. and the boys’ game will follow.

    In what will go a long way into deciding the district tournament seeding in late February, there are several matchups to watch.

    The first of three intra-county rivalry basketball games tip off Friday night as South Oldham boys and girls basketball hosts Oldham County. The girls’ game begins at 6 p.m. and the boys’ game will follow.

  • Boys Basketball: Oldham wins Hoops tournament title

    Another strong first quarter, another victory for Oldham County boys basketball. The Colonels defeated John Hardin 88-60 Saturday in Buckner to claim the Pegasus Sports Network Best in Hoops tournament title. Jackson Gibson had a team-high 35 points, shooting 10 of 10 from the field and 14 of 15 from the free throw line, and Travis Henderson finished with 25 points to lead the Colonels.
