  • Oldham basketball hosts North in doubleheader

    Oldham County girls and boys basketball hosts North Oldham for the second of three intra-county rivalry double headers Friday. The girls’ game begins at 6 p.m. and the boys’ game will follow.

    In what will go a long way into deciding the district tournament seeding in late February, there are several matchups to watch.


  • Boys Basketball: Butler blasts North

    A night after its reign of the only unbeaten team in the state ended, Butler boys basketball had a dominant performance against North Oldham, a 53-35 victory, in the Whitefield Down Syndrome Classic hosted at Whitefield Academy Saturday. Dylan Yates had a team-high 10 points while Justin Rose finished with seven points and six rebounds for North Oldham.

  • Girls Basketball: North clobbers Collegiate

    There wasn’t much rest for the weary in North Oldham girls basketball 10-day, six-game stretch that ended with a 56-34 victory over Collegiate Saturday in Goshen. The Mustangs led for a majority of the way as AT Proctor had a team-high 16 points while Sarah Fiorito and Caitlyn Chen finished in double figures with 11 points and 10 points, respectively.

    The first of three intra-county rivalry basketball games tip off Friday night as South Oldham boys and girls basketball hosts Oldham County. The girls’ game begins at 6 p.m. and the boys’ game will follow.

  • Boys Basketball: Waggener gets by North

    North Oldham boys basketball couldn’t hold onto a slender fourth quarter as Waggener went on a 9-0 run to claim a 66-58 victory Tuesday night in Goshen. Dylan Yates had a team-high 18 points while Justin Rose scored 16 points for the Mustangs. Cole Fischer added 10 points.

  • Boys Basketball: North outlasts E'town

    When the lead needed to be protected, North Oldham’s defense held firm and Layne McIntosh made four three throws in the final minute, which held off a feverish comeback as North Oldham boys basketball defeated Elizabethtown (E’town) 71-64 in the final day of the Middletown Holiday Classic tournament hosted at Eastern High School Friday.

  • Boys Basketball: George Rogers Clark slips by North

    After four ties and six lead changes in the final six-and-a-half minutes, Will Philpott grabbed an offensive rebound and made a game-winning lay up as time expired to give George Rogers Clark boys basketball a 60-58 victory over North Oldham Wednesday in the first round of the City of Middletown Holiday Classic hosted by Eastern High School.

  • North Oldham wrestling seeking new practice facility

    North Oldham wrestling wants a facility to call its own. At a recent Oldham County School Board meeting, coaches, parents and former student-athletes spoke about the desire to have permanent practice facility similar to South Oldham and Oldham County.

    The wrestling team currently practices in North Oldham’s cafeteria.

  • Girls Basketball: North vaults over Fort Knox

    North Oldham girls basketball relied on its defense in a 48-20 victory over Fort Knox Saturday in Goshen. A slow start offensively didn’t hamper the Mustangs in taking an early double-digit lead as North Oldham held the visitors to nine first half points.

    Sarah Fiorito had game-high 14 points and four rebounds while Olivia Hinton had eight points and seven rebounds.

  • Girls Basketball: North Oldham tromps in home opener

    After a disappointing start to the season, a 54-31 loss to Gallatin County, North Oldham girls basketball returned less than 24 hours later for a 60-10 victory over Southern Saturday afternoon. Led by 16 points from AT Proctor, 11 different Mustangs scored in the home opener in Goshen.
