     Oldham County girls soccer guaranteed itself of a spot in the District 29 title game for the third straight year. The Lady Colonels defeated North Oldham 2-1 Monday night in Buckner. Tristan Whalen scored the game-winning goal with 7:13 left in regulation as Oldham County rallied from an early one-goal deficit.

    A year after every regular season District 29 girls soccer match was decided in a shootout, North Oldham and South Oldham were in a familiar scenario Wednesday night in Goshen. After a 2-2 tie in regulation and overtime, Danielle Argotte sent in the winning shot from the mark to give North Oldham a 3-1 advantage for the victory.

    North Oldham football put to rest a long losing streak in time for district play.

    The Mustangs defeated Bullitt Central 16-13 in overtime last Friday for their first win since Sept. 25, 2015. Adam Barry made a field-goal in the Mustangs’ first possession in overtime to complete a 10-point second half comeback.

    Things couldn’t have gone much worse for North Oldham football in a 65-13 loss to Waggener Thursday night. The host Wildcats’ playmakers are a lot for any team to handle and they showed why against North Oldham. Jairus Brents scored five touchdowns: two rushing, one passing, one receiving and one 65-yard punt return.
