The South Oldham Rotary Club recognized their John Longstreet Students of the Month for January at its Jan. 12 meeting.

  • Ella Grace Morrison is a senior at South Oldham High School, where she participates in basketball, Link Crew, Dragon News and is on the advisory board. She has received several awards incluing All 8th Region Team, All 29th District Team and 29th District Most Valuable Player. She plans to attend Bellarmine University, with a long-term goal of being a recreational play therapist. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, painting, baking, playing guitar and volunteering at the animal shelter. Her parents are Lee and Dayna Morrison.

Senior Noah Robert Kavorkian attends South Oldham High School, where he is in the marching band, Beta Club, Mu Alpha Theta, knitting and crochet club, percussion ensemble and jazz band. He also participated in the Kentucky Youth Assembly and Kentucky United Nations Assembly. He was awarded the all-district 1st chair marimba and received three distinguished ratings at Solo and

  • Ensemble Festival. He is keeping his options open for colleges and is considering the University of Louisville, University of Kentucky, Morehead State University and the University of Tulsa (Oklahoma). He plans pursue a career as a statistician. Giving private percussion lessons, tutoring students in math, volunteering at the YMCA, participating in the Oldham County Community Band is how he likes to spend his time outside of school. His parents are Robert Tapp and Veronica Kavorkian.

South Oldham High School senior Breeana Ashley Riggins is involved in drama and theatre, as well as a member of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America at school. She has received a $10,000 Egg Battle Scholarship to Sullivan University, where she plans to attend after graduation. Riggins plans to start her own culinary or baking business in the future. Her interests outside of school are cooking, baking, sewing, painting, acting and singing. Her parents are Scott and Maria Riggins.
