SMITHFIELD — James E. “Jimmy” Morris of Smithfield, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024 after a brave and courageous battle against cancer.

Jimmy was born to Donald and Mary (Chadwell) Morris on April 24, 1970 in Pewee Valley, Kentucky.

Jimmy enjoyed riding his motorcycle on the open road in the fresh air. He had a love for fishing and casting a line with friends or family brought him immeasurable joy. He also enjoyed cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team.

Jimmy worked at Liter’s Inc., as Sales Manager for 26 years, a testament to his strong work ethic and willingness to tackle any challenge he was given.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his father; Donald R. Morris.

Left to cherish the memory of Jimmy are his wife of 10 years; Judith K. Gladish, mother; Mary Chadwell Morris, siblings; Joe Morris and Cathy Payne (Jason), nieces and nephews; Addison Payne, Ryker Payne, Beckett Payne, Ellington Payne, extended family and friends.

Jimmy brought a unique blend of mischief and humor to situations, leaving a lasting impression on his nieces and nephews as the “crazy uncle”.

A funeral service for Jimmy was held Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home.

Though he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
