Pick up your stride and gallop to La Grange Main Street for Derby fun.

The Main Street Derby is revving up for an epic day on March 30. The excitement kicks off at 10 a.m. with free pony rides provided by Martha’s Ponies, thanks to the generous sponsorship from Freddy’s Steakburger. Individuals can head over to the green space at CityPlace for that experience, running until noon.

Kids can unleash their creativity at 11 a.m. on Main Street with pool noodle horse crafting, courtesy of Judith M. Millinery Supply. Then, they can get ready for an adrenaline rush as they race their creations down Main Street at 12:15 p.m.

But hold on to your hats, because the fun doesn’t stop there. Groove with your loved ones to the tunes spun by DJ Josh Skaggs from Prestige Entertainment, sponsored by Eberle Orthodontics. And don’t miss the fashion show at 2 p.m., showcasing styles from across history in honor of our county’s bicentennial celebration.

Make sure to check out the Win, Place, Artisan arts and crafts show at CityPlace’s pavilion 2, hosted by Innov8 Events from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Keep your eyes peeled for a special appearance by legendary jockey Pat Day, who will be on Main Street at 11:30 a.m. to greet guests and start the kids’ derby races. And when hunger strikes, visit local restaurants or one of the food trucks on Washington and Main Street to keep you fueled for the festivities.

A massive shout-out to our sponsors — Freddy’s Steakburgers, Eberle Orthodontics, Judith M. Millinery and La Grange Tourism — for making this day possible.

Looking ahead, mark your calendars for the Blue Hydrangea Tea on April 21, organized by Sarah Garrett and Jordan Phillips. Indulge in an afternoon of elegance, tea, treats and a silent auction, all in support of Ovarian Awareness of Kentucky. The tea starts at CityPlace at noon, with the silent auction and opening prayer at 1 p.m. You have until 4 p.m. to visit all the participating businesses in the historic district for a special treat. Secure your tickets on our website, lagrangemainstreet.org.
