  • Girls Basketball: Oldham edges Thomas Nelson

    It might not have been pretty, but Oldham County girls basketball found a way to win with a short-handed lineup. The Lady Colonels defeated Thomas Nelson 55-49 Saturday, Jan. 26 in Buckner. 

  • Boys Basketball: Colonels defeat Tates Creek

    The ‘next man up mentality’ worked for Oldham County boys basketball. The Colonels defeated Tates Creek 76-64 Saturday, Jan. 26 in Buckner with the absence of leading rebounder and second-leading scorer Christian Harper.

    Cole Mesker scored a game-high 26 points. Matthew Teague finished with 19 points and Sam Campbell added 11 points for Oldham County. 

  • Boys Basketball: South outlasts North

    It might tough to beat a rival twice, but South Oldham boys basketball did.

    The Dragons defeated North Oldham 80-71 Friday, Jan. 25 in Crestwood. After a 76-56 victory over North Oldham in late December, South Oldham coach Steve Simpson knew it was going to be different the second time. 

  • Girls Basketball: South tops North

    Thirteen points was once again the difference.

    After South Oldham girls basketball defeated North Oldham 50-37 in late December in a Holiday tournament, the Lady Dragons once again defeated North Oldham, this time, 65-52 Friday, Jan. 25 in Crestwood. 

  • Man arrested after Instagram Live video

     A man was arrested after he threatened to kill a juvenile in a live-streamed video, according to Oldham County Police.

    Marcellaus Malone, 22, was arrested by Oldham County Police last night.

    In the Instagram Live video, he allegedly said, “I will kill you, I will literally kill you,” as he pointed a gun to the back of a child’s head.

  • Girls Basketball: South routs Shawnee

    South Oldham girls basketball celebrated the careers of five seniors and then defeated Shawnee 65-19 Wednesday, Jan. 23 in Crestwood. The Lady Dragons improved to 13-5 with the victory.

    Zoey Holland had a team-high 12 points as 12 players for South Oldham scored. Payton Herold finished with 11 points and six assists. Abby Miles added 10 points. 

  • Oldham County Schools determines 'no threat' after bullet found at SOHS

     A student found a small bullet at South Oldham High School (SOHS) today.

    Oldham County Schools Communications Director Lori McDowell said the bullet was found in the toilet of a restroom that is locked and monitored at the high school. 

    The students who were allowed to use that bathroom were questioned and searched after the bullet was found.

  • Master plan revealed for Crestwood farm

    The master plan for a 482-acre family farm in Crestwood was revealed to the public on Saturday Jan. 19.

    The Clore family, who has deeps roots in Oldham County dating back to 1808, has plans to create a mixed-use development surrounding Exit 14 in Crestwood.

  • Worthington Fire and EMS seeks to expand into Oldham

    Oldham County Fiscal Court opposes the Worthington Fire Protection District’s certification as an emergency ambulance service.

    During the court’s Jan. 15 meeting, they passed a resolution supporting Oldham County Emergency Medical Services as the sole ambulance provider in Oldham County.

  • Pewee council debates adding road to the city

    After a contentious two-hour special called meeting of the Pewee Valley City Council, the council decided to accept Rest Cottage Lane into the city road system.
