  • OC’s Kemper leads team into finals

    The Oldham County boys’ soccer team cruised to a 3-0 victory over the North Oldham Mustangs and ended their season Monday night. 

    Dominating shots on target, possession and goals, the Colonels made a statement that they deserve the district title more than any other team. 

  • North volleyball rolls over Trimble County 3-0

    To hear the North Oldham volleyball team talk about Monday night’s game with Trimble County, you’d think the Mustangs lost.

    Though the team may not be firing on all cylinders, they were polished enough to make life rough for host Trimble County in the 29th district tournament opener, rallying from a rough start to sweep the match 3-0.

  • South advances to final with win

    It didn’t take long for sophomore forward Stephanie Rowland and the South Oldham Lady Dragons to take the lead Monday night as the first goal was scored 13 seconds into the game. They never looked back from there, cruising to a relatively easy 5-0 win. 

  • South edges OC in thriller

    BEDFORD — It took nearly two and a half hours but South Oldham finally earned the right to challenge rival North Oldham for the 29th district crown after knocking off Oldham County in a gutsy 3-2 win at Trimble County.

  • South falls to Cooper 21-14

    Entering last night’s game with Cooper High School, the South Oldham Dragons had the chance to capture the district championship. After falling to the Jaguars 21-14 though, they’re left with plenty of questions.

    Turnovers were to blame for most of that as the Dragons handed the ball back to Cooper five times over the course of the game.

    After last week’s disappointing loss to rival Shelby County, the Colonels traveled to Fern Creek looking to rebuild last night and that’s exactly what they did, blitzing the hapless Tigers 37-6.

  • North Oldhams falls to Collins in heartbreaker

    Just a week removed from handing Waggener a 47-24 beatdown, the North Oldham Mustangs found themselves on the wrong end of a loss, falling 36-20 to district foe Collins in a heartbreaker.

    Unlike the score suggests though, North was in the game until the very end, closing the third quarter in a 20-20 tie with the Titans.

  • UPDATE: Oldham teacher suspended eight days without pay

    Officials from the Oldham County school district recently suspended a middle school teacher for more than a week without pay for violating district policies. 

    According to documents from the Oldham County Board of Education's Sept. 24 meeting, East Oldham Middle School teacher Kevin Cox was suspended eight days without pay.

    Cox, the school's band director, was suspended from Sept. 4 through Sept. 13.
