  • Partial burn ban begins May 1

    Beginning May 1 through Sept. 30, open burning is prohibited in parts of Oldham County designated by the Federal Environmental Protection Agency as moderate non-attainment air quality for ozone.

    The specific Oldham County area, as described in 401 KAR 51:010, is:

  • $1,000 reward offered for info about vandalism

    On several occasions between October and February, the Oldham County Country Club has been the victim of vandalism, causing a large amount of damage to trees on their property.

    Members of the club are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals responsible for the crimes.

  • Beer goggles offer glimpse at DUI

    OCHS students participated in a drunk-driving simulation Monday, sponsored by Oldham County Police and Challengers. Students donned goggles to simulate the vision of someone driving under the influence and drove an obstacle course with two students riding along to experience impaired driving. Goggles show a white line in front of the right lens skewed to the far left. Students wearing the goggles struggled to pass the field-sobriety test.

  • Crestwood teen charged with rape

    A 17-year-old Crestwood male is charged with the alleged rape of a 16-year-old female in Crestwood sometime late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.

    Police and court officials said they could not confirm the name of the male. He is charged with first-degree rape, a class B felony.
