  • Oldham County Library plans to expand facilities

    The Oldham County Library hopes to expand its facilities in Goshen and Crestwood following its expansion of the main location in La Grange.  

    After opening a new building to serve as the main library in La Grange with dramatically expanded facilities, Library Director Susan Eubank wants to take similar actions in the smaller branch libraries located in other parts of Oldham County.

  • EMS to build new ambulance facility in La Grange

     Oldham County EMS plans to build a new ambulance facility at Baptist Health La Grange and the building will be located along New Moody Lane, just beyond the hospital.

    Todd Early, director of Oldham County EMS, said that the decision made sense not only strengthen the existing partnership between Baptist Health La Grange and Oldham County’s EMS service, but it will also improve services for the Oldham County area.

     Prodigal Ministries, a program that provides services for people recently released from prison, will be holding its eighth annual Christmas in Sept. fashion show and dinner on September 10.

     Punctuated by backyard cookouts and the last dips in the pool, for most Americans Labor Day is the last chance to enjoy all summer has to offer.

    The national holiday, however, was created to celebrate workers and their achievements following a dark time in America’s labor history marked by excessively long work days, child labor, poor wages and unsafe working conditions.

     Farmers’ Market Hosts Farm to Table Dinner

    The La Grange Farmers’ Market and Artisans will present a Farm to Table Dinner on Monday, Sept. 21, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Main Street Bourbon and Ale House. The event will start with appetizers featuring local salsas and dips, followed by dinner featuring locally raised meats and vegetables, all prepared by guest chef Gary Bajdek.

  • Inmate Escapes from Oldham County Jail

     According to Oldham County Jailer Mike Simpson, John William Foster IV, 47, was reported to have escaped at approximately 11:30 a.m. Sept. 2.


    Foster, who is described as a 5’4” white male weighing approximately 200 pounds, has blue eyes and is balding with grey hair.  He was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt and black shorts, with a goatee.  He is also known to wear prescription glasses. He has multiple tattoos, including several on both arms and chest.
