    Marjorie Elizabeth Hampton, 88, died Friday, November 14, 2008, at Oaklawn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was a member of Crestwood United Methodist Church.

    Survivors include her sons, Richard (Barbara) and Mike (Anne) Hampton; four grandchildren, Brian, Kyle, Laura and Jennifer; and a brother, Paul Reno.

    She was born Jan. 30, 1920, in Paynesville. She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, J. Woodroe “Woody” Allen; and her husband of 18 years, Charles M. Rice.

    She was the former Pauline Hawley.

    He was a retired mechanic for Oldham County Stone Co. and a Baptist by faith.

    He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Holman; and a daughter, Vicki O’Conner.

    She was retired manager for the Green Valley apartments in La Grange.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, William Doug Clark.

    Survivors include her daughter, Sharlise Barakat; a brother, Douglas Hire; and two grandchildren.

    It was difficult for family members of William Leroy and Marianne Ortwein Kollenberg to find suitable decorations for the Goshen couple’s 50th wedding anniversary last May.

    Not many couples make it to 50, the store clerks told them– and on Derby Day, most party stores were swamped with last minute requests for mint julep mixers and noisemakers.
