    The owner of Ashbourne Farms has restored a historic cattle barn into a state-of-the-art facility that can host events and will even have its own chef for guests.

    “It just seemed like a natural fit for the evolution of our farm and the land,” Austin Musselman, the co-owner of Ashbourne Farms, said about the expansion.

  • Learn about Mary Todd Lincoln at dinner series

    Mary Todd Lincoln was the wife of the 16th president and to some, an unpopular first lady. She was born on Dec. 13, 1818, in Lexington, into a prominent family. She married politician and lawyer Abraham Lincoln on November 4, 1842, and they had four children. 

  • OC native serves at Naval Air Station

     A 2007 Oldham County High School graduate and La Grange native is serving “Where the future of naval aviation begins” at Naval Air Station (NAS) Patuxent River, located in Patuxent River, Md.

  • History Center to host Gatewood Plantation archaeology dig

     The Oldham County History Center will be hosting an archaeology investigation from 11 a.m. to  2 p.m. on Sunday, May 22. This is a continuing investigation at the Gatewood Plantation, located outside of Bedford in Trimble County.

  • NAMI class offered

    The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) will offer a Family-to Family education program at La Grange Baptist Church, 1139 Commerce Parkway in La Grange, beginning Thursday, Aug. 27 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

    The class is a free, 12-week course for family caregivers of individuals with severe mental illnesses. The course, which is taught by trained family members, also provides all instructional materials and course materials.

    The South Oldham Rotary Club is hosting their Fourth Annual South Oldham Rotary Bourbon & Wine Tasting on Friday, Aug. 21, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at beautiful Yew Dell Gardens located at 6220 Old La Grange Road in Crestwood.  

  • Heilman places wreath

     World War II Marine veteran Dr. E. Bruce Heilman, who recently completed his 6,000-mile motorcycle ride to kick off the “Spirit of ‘45” national commemoration of the end of WWII in August, returned to Louisville on Sunday, June 21, to place a wreath at Zachary Taylor National Cemetery.

    Hermitage Farms in Goshen will be the scene of the Hermitage Grand Gala, a star-studded Derby Eve party this Friday, May 1.

    The party is a joining of Laura Lee Brown and Steve Wilson, founders of 21c Museum Hotels, and Junior Bridgeman, President of Bridgeman Foods.
