Victim of $40,000 theft offers reward

 An Oldham County homeowner is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the return of stolen property.

According to a press release from Oldham County Police, the theft occurred at a Crestwood home on Highway 22 sometime between the night of May 29 and the morning of May 30. 

The perpetrator took more than $40,000 worth of guns, ammunition and other items, according to the release.

Oldham County Police have no information about a suspect.

“Our primary concern for the safety of the community is the recovery of the stolen firearms, to prevent any unlawful use or possession of these firearms,” said Jim Laytham, public information officer for the Oldham County Police. “The Oldham County Police would greatly appreciate any information that would assist the investigation.”

To protect the integrity of the investigation, Oldham County Police declined to release more information at this time.

In addition to the $10,000 the victim is offering, Kentuckiana Crimestoppers is offering a standard $1,000 reward.
