Two Oldham County residents have been arrested in connection with a shooting at the Circle K gas station in Centerfield this morning.

Oldham County Police have charged Austin Ransdell, 18, with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault and tampering with physical evidence and Andrew Tetidrick, 19, with first-degree robbery and assault.

Police say one of the men shot a customer at the Circle K around 3 a.m. this morning after they tried to stop him from stealing beer. Both Ransdell and Tetidrick are under the legal drinking age.

Oldham County Police responded to the scene shortly after at 3 a.m.

When an employee and the victim confronted that man at the entrance, he then showed them a handgun and tried to run past the victim.

“The victim grabbed the suspect who then turned and shot the victim and fled the scene on foot,” Oldham County Police said in a press release.

Police said they captured one of the men through a search warrant and the other during a traffic stop.

“The warrant was executed by the Oldham County Special Response team who arrested Mr. Ransdell at that time,” Oldham County Police said.

Ransdell had buried the gun that was used in the robbery. Police later recovered the firearm during that search.

Tetidrick was arrested in Centerfield during a traffic stop after police spotted his car, which had been used in the robbery.

Ransdell shot the customer, and Tetidrick was the getaway driver, according to the arrest citation.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was transported to University Hospital in Louisville with non-life-threatening injuries.

Both men will be booked into the Oldham County Detention Center.

Ransdell's bond has been set at $50,000. Tetidrick's bond has not been set yet.
