Lenhart wins Junior Falls City Golf Tournament


North Oldham junior Mason Lenhart was crowned champion of the 71st Junior Falls City Golf Tournament at Long Run Golf Course last Friday. 

Lenhart, seeded 17th, squared off against Hayden Zimmerer, seeded third, in the 36-hole final for a 2 & 1 victory. Lenhart went four-up on the first 18 holes  and five-up after 25. He held off Zimmerer, who birdied four of the last eight holes, to close the win on the 35th hole.


17U team wins first ever Post 39 state title

The American Legion Post 39 17U team won the Junior Division Baseball State Tournament the weekend of July 10 in Kuttawa. The state title was the first for any division in Post 39 history. The Aces dominated the tournament by scoring 44 runs and allowing only 14. Cooper Gordon led the team with a 0.875 on base percentage and Travis Faith led with nine hits. Youth Baseball Camp


Oldham County Middle School baseball, along with Lou Ott Baseball and Shively Sporting Goods, is hosting a Youth Baseball Camp Aug. 3-5 at the Wendell Moore Park Baseball Complex in La Grange. Camp fees are $150 per full day (9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with lunch provided), or $100 per day (9 a.m. - noon). The camp is open to any student in first through eighth grade. The first 100 participants to register will receive a free camp t-shirt.
