An inmate from the Oldham County Jail escaped while on a work-detail assignment in Buckner at approximately 2 p.m. today.

Michael Chadwell, 35, is currently serving time on a robbery charge.

Chadwell was working with Oldham County Parks and Recreation today near the football field that is adjacent to Wendell Moore Park when he escaped.

“At this time, we are under the assumption that he left in a vehicle,” Oldham County Jail Major Jeff Tindall said.

Oldham County Police are investigating leads, according to Tindall.

Chadwell was wearing an orange jail T-shirt when he disappeared. He has black hair, green eyes, is approximately 5’10 and weighs 220 pounds.

“Inmates assigned to the Oldham County work-detail program are class D felons and not considered dangerous,” according to a press release.

If you see Chadwell, contact Oldham County Police at 222-1300 or call 911.
