Margaret Bowling, 89


Margaret P. “Margie” Bowling, age 89, passed away March 9, 2015 in LaGrange, KY. She is the daughter of the late Howard and Stella Parr.

She is survived by her sister; Marcella Dickson .

A service to honor the life of Mrs. Bowling was held at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at noon with visiting from 10-12 at the funeral home. Burial was at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville, KY.

Marvin Carpenter Jr., 68

Marvin Ellis Carpenter Jr. 68 passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015. He was a faithful member of Southeast Christian Church, retired from Ford Motor Company LAP and an Army Reservist. Marvin loved hunting, attending gun shows and yard sales. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his daughter: Tina Whelan; sister: Candy Miller; brothers: James Carpenter (Debbie), Allen Drew Carpenter and Michael Carpenter; grandson: Hunter William Whelan and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents: Marvin Ellis Carpenter Sr. and Anna Marquerite (Sug) Carpenter Raymond and his son: Brent Russell Carpenter.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home with burial to follow in Floydsburg Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p .m. Tuesday, March 17.

Helen Couch, 64


Helen M. Couch, age 64 of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015. She was a member of the Pewee Valley Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she was active in the Women’s Ministry. Helen was a dedicated certified nurse assistant at Friendship Manor for forty years.

Helen is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Elisha; children, Eddie E. Couch (Michelle), Eric J. Couch, Elizabeth D. Smith (Leroy); grandchildren, James E. Couch, Katie L. Mings (Michael), Michael B. Couch; nephews, Derrick and Daniel Pierce; her sister, Diane Kane (John); and the other members of her loving family, Adam Smith,3 great-nephews; and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Belma Aeh Moon; and her brother, Lowell Moon.

Services were held at 2pm Friday, March 13, 2015 at Pewee Valley Seventh Day Adventist Church, 103 La Grange Road, Pewee Valley, KY 40056.

Mary Deibel, 100


Mary Catherine Deibel, age 100 of Crestwood, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015, at home with her family around her. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Pewee Valley and former owner/bookkeeper for Deibel Greenhouses.

She is survived by her sons, Dennis Deibel (Sara) and Allen Deibel (Sharon); daughters-in-law, Brenda Deibel and Linda Deibel; a sister, Helen Belshoff; four grandchildren, Mary Mitchell (Don), Robert “Bobby” Deibel, III (Sondra), Jason Deibel (Jennifer) and Kate Deibel; and eight great grandchildren. Mary Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Deibel, Sr.; her parents, William and Matilda Klump; a son, Robert Deibel, Jr.; two brothers, Edward Klump and Father Emmanual Klump; and two sisters, Alice Klump and Elizabeth Dries.

Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2015 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Pewee Valley, followed by burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood.

Dorothy Dietrich, 83


Dorothy J. Dietrich, age 83 of LaGrange, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015. She retired as Director of Nursing with Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center, was previously Director of Nursing at Charter Hospital, had served as President of the Kentucky Psychiatric Nurses, served on the Board of the Oldham County Health Department, was a lifetime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a volunteer with the Red Cross. And she was first and foremost a devoted mother to her children.

She is survived by her sons Albert, Michael, Andrew, Edward (Debbie) and William (Carey) Dietrich; daughters Phyllis McWilliams (Kenny), Mary Diane Gross (Allen), Connie Antle (Chris) and Becky Phillips (Barry) and her sister, Norma Hardin; 27 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Ola Mae Hardin; a foster son Charles Newton; brother William E. Hardin and sisters Martha Frazier and Mary Jo Priest.

Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 16 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, LaGrange with burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens, East. Visitation will be 2-8 P.M. Sunday, March 15 at Oldham County Funeral Home, 706 W Jefferson St., LaGrange.

Memorial gifts may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Alzheimer’s Association.

Betty McKinney, 73

Bensenville, IL

Betty Joyce Collett McKinney 73, of Bensenville IL, formerly of LaGrange, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015. She was an insurance clerk for Cassady Insurance and worked at Cracker Barrel.

Survivors include her daughter: Christy Lynn Duty (Clinton); grandsons: Zachary and Mathew; sisters: Lois Carol Forgy and Joann Morrow; brother: Kenneth Collett (Elaine). Preceding her in death were her parents Demmer Lee Collett and Marie Angel Hiatt.

A Funeral Service was conducted at 11a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015, at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home with burial to follow in Valley of Rest Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4-8 PM on Thursday, March 12.

Danny Scott, 72


Danny R. Scott, age 72, of Crestwood, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Baptist Healthcare Louisville. He was a sales manager for Tri-County Ford and Knox Ford.

He is survived by his sons, Anthony Murray (Gidget), Danny R. Scott, Jr. (Charlotte), David Scott and Jason Scott (Dawn Holley); a daughter, Dana Haupt (John); twelve grandchildren, Aaron Haupt, Zack Scott, J. T. Murray, Emilie Haupt, Brianna Scott, Josephine Scott, Camille Scott, Violet Scott, Gabriella Haupt and Georgia; a brother Tom Scott (Rita); and two sisters, Melda Dillon ( Don) and Rosalee Kinsella (Pat); and numerous nieces and nephews. Danny was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; his parents Tom and Easter Scott; and two sisters, Bobbie Hayes and Lois Shafer.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 14 at Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood with a private burial.
