Local student athletes sign early National Letter of Intents

The early signing period began Wednesday morning for high school student athletes signing letter of intents to carry their athletic careers to the college level.


Five local students from North Oldham, Oldham County and South Oldham signed Wednesday and more will sign in the coming days.

Listed below are high school athletes planning to sign in the next week.

Wednesday, Nov. 11
North Oldham - Erin Parker (softball), Memphis University
North Oldham - Casey Foote (volleyball), College of William and Mary
North Oldham - Grace Oglesby (swim), University of Louisville
Oldham County - Kelsey Miller (volleyball), University of Virginia
Oldham County - Aspen Jarrett (tennis), Kennesaw State University
South Oldham - Michael Higgins (baseball), Bellarmine University

Friday, Nov. 13
Oldham County - Griffin McLarty (baseball), College of Charleston
South Oldham - Storm Thompson (field hockey), Bellarmine University

Monday, Nov. 16
South Oldham - Tanner Dowdy (cross country), University of Kentucky
South Oldham  - Cole Dowdy (cross country), University of Kentucky

Tuesday, Nov. 17
Oldham County - Emma Skinner (swim), University of Kentucky

For the 2014-15 school year, Oldham high schools saw 48 total student athletes sign to play collegiate sports. North Oldham signed 17, South Oldham signed 22 and Oldham County signed nine.
