KHSAA Class 5-A football playoffs: South dismantles East Jessamine

South Oldham (8-2) started its postseason with a comfortable win Friday night, beating East Jessamine (3-7-1) 56-7 in Crestwood.

The Dragons dominated both offensively (316 rushing yards, 175 passing yards) and defensively (two interceptions, three fumbles recovered).

Kevin Kuriger ran for 143 yards and three touchdowns.

Ethan Reinert caught touchdown passes from both Michael McGee and Starr Thompson and finished with 96 receiving yards.

Adam Clark both caught a touchdown pass from McGee and returned an interception for a score.

Caan Thornsberry also ran for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

South will host Anderson County at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Dragon Stadium. The Bearcats beat Scott 32-13 on Friday in Lawrenceburg.

The Dragons beat Anderson in an exciting 52-43 shootout on Sept. 5 in Crestwood.
