Alexis and Sophia Head will continue to play together.

The twin sisters signed to play basketball at Kentucky Christian University Friday Oct. 12. Alexis and Sophia wanted to continue their careers collegiately, but were in search for a school that would take them both.

“It was difficult because there were some schools that liked Sophia more because she was a two guard and there were some schools that liked me better because of the fit of the schools,” Alexis Head said. “This one was kind of perfect.”

The two have played for Oldham County since their eighth grade years, combining for over 2,000 points in the past four seasons. Sophia (12.8 points) and Alexis (10.7 points) were the leading scorers last year for a Lady Colonel team that won 22 games and reached the semi-finals of the Eighth Region tournament.

The Heads had a familiarity with Kentucky Christian and the area around it. The school’s coaching staff watched the two play last season against Scott County and began recruiting the two.

“Our parents grew up in Eastern Kentucky, so we knew everything there,” Sophia Head said. “It is really small. We fell in love with it.

“The girls on the team were a lot like us. It was a good place to be.”
