A Crestwood woman has been arrested for allegedly performing a sexual act on a minor and providing alcohol and marijuana to minors at her home.

On Nov. 12, Anne Downing, 37, was arrested at her home in Crestwood after police showed up looking for a missing minor.

Once they entered, they found several open bottles of alcoholic beverages, which several minors admitted to drinking, according to court documents.

“Juveniles also stated that above provided permission to drink the alcoholic beverages,” the arrest citation states.

Downing denied that claim, but gave police written consent to search the home, and “led police to her bedroom and stated she kept marijuana in her underwear drawer.” Marijuana was located in that drawer on a plate.

She told police she didn’t know the minors were drinking and smoking, “due to the fact that she had consumed several beers and had gone to bed.”

Downing was then arrested again on Dec. 27 after a lengthy investigation that Oldham County Police began in November.

According to court documents, Downing allegedly provided alcohol and marijuana to minors at her home around Oct. 14, Oct. 28 and Nov. 5.

“On Oct. 28, the defendant engaged in oral sex with a male juvenile known to her at the time to be 14-years-old,” the arrest warrant states.

Detectives interviewed the 14-year-old male who is unnamed. “This victim also stated that on Oct. 28, the defendant engaged in oral sex with him at her residence,” the arrest warrant states.

Downing is also charged with "engaging in sexually explicit conversations via social media with the juveniles,” according to Oldham County Police.

The juveniles interviewed also told police that they were given alcohol on Oct. 14 and 28 and marijuana on Nov. 5.

Detectives also interviewed Downing, who admitted to providing alcohol and marijuana to her son and the juvenile victim.

Downing’s bail was originally set at $5,000 cash, but was later amended to $1,000 by Oldham County District Court Judge Jerry Crosby.

Downing has bailed out of the Oldham County Detention Center.

Downing is charged with sodomy in the third degree, four counts of unlawful transaction with a minor in the second degree, six counts of unlawful transaction with a minor in the third degree and five counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.

In her November arrest, she was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, possession of marijuana and local violation codes.

She is scheduled to appear in court again on Jan. 10 at 1 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any information about this incident or others is asked to contact Oldham County Police at 222-1300.
