Judge-Executive David Voegele said the official trick-or-treat date for Oldham County is moving from Wednesday, Oct. 31, to tomorrow, Oct. 30.

Voegele said he’s urging all people doing outdoor trick-or-treating to move their times to Tuesday and cited poor weather conditions as the reason for the move.

“The safety of children is everyone’s primary concern,” he said in an interview.

Voegele said the predicted heavy rainfall and dark conditions makes moving the date the best choice.

Cities such as La Grange and Goshen had previously announced they were moving their times.

Goshen's trick-or-treating will be 5:30-8 p.m. and La Grange from 6-8 p.m. Prospect also annoucned they would be moving trick-or-treating to Tuesday as well, but did not specify any set time.

In a Facebook post, Voegele also said the Oldham County Fiscal Court, La Grange, Crestwood, Pewee Valley, Orchard Grass Hills, Goshen and River Bluff all urge people to use caution while trick-or-treating.

Voegele said they’re not recommending any certain time frame countywide on Tuesday for trick-or-treating.
