Chainsaw artist to appear at arts show

Harley Dougherty, an internationally known chainsaw artist, will be featured at the St. James Episcopal Church Arts & Crafts Show on Oct. 26 and will be carving at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Dougherty has placed fourth in the World Saw Championship and set the high benchmark on auction in the Golden Chainsaw World Championship.  

Dougherty has been carving for the past eight years and had no formal training. He said it is a God given gift and he feels blessed to have work he enjoys.

The Pewee Valley Arts & Crafts Day is Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dougherty will be located at the St. James Episcopal Church at 401 LaGrange Rd. in Pewee Valley.
