The Oldham County courthouse square in La Grange will be filled with arts, crafts, music and food this weekend for the 14th annual Arts on the Green, presented by the Arts Association of Oldham County.

This year, the juried arts and crafts festival features more than 130 artists showcasing original handcrafted paintings and drawings, mixed media, photography, ceramics, sculpture, glass, jewelry, consumables, metal, yard art, wood and fiber.

“We are so excited to host this event each year,” said Mary Klausing, festival director and former AAOC board president of the AAOC board.

“It just keeps getting better and better and is the perfect way to highlight the amazing artwork to be found locally and from as far away as Florida and New York,” Klausing said.

The festival runs from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Food vendors will provide a variety of fare ranging from barbeque to crabcakes, as well as Greek and vegan options.

Returning this year is the children’s art contest.

“Each year, the kids produce delightful artwork,” Klausing said.

A sand paint artist will also be on hand to entertain kids.

In addition to the sale of beer and wine at the festival for the first time, the AAOC is hosting a “happy hour” 5-7 p.m. each day.

Food vendors will offer discounts on food and drinks.

“Breakfast with the Artists” will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday morning. Vendors will serve breakfast fare, and Denise Watts-Wilson will take the stage with inspirational gospel music at 11 a.m.

From 11 a.m.-4 p.m. both days, visitors can enjoy live music on the Wood Songs Coffehouse Stage.

Parking is available in various nearby lots.

Golf carts, sponsored by Semonin Realtors, will be available to help buyers get to their cars with their purchases.

“And, we want to remind everyone to pick up a raffle ticket to win art pieces donated by the Arts on the Green artists,” Klausing said.
