  • South football wins in first...

    A week after coach Jamie Reed called his team’s loss to Shelby County a wakeup call, South Oldham football defeated Woodford County 61-33 in the first round of the 5-A state playoffs.

    At Tom Sawyer State Park, Oldham County finished third in the nine-team race, clinching a spot in the state race next week, while South Oldham fell five points behind Ballard for the fourth and final spot for the state meet.

  • South football drops regular...

    It was a different week for the South Oldham football team with fall break, and it ended with a different result than Dragons have had this year. Host Shelby County defeated South Oldham 33-32, the Dragons first loss of the year in their final game of the regular season.

     The Eighth Region soccer tournament was played last week, with all three Oldham County high schools competing.

  • North boys and Oldham girls win...

    Runners from Oldham County made quite a statement at the middle school Cross Country state championship last weekend at Masterson Station Park in Lexington. The North Oldham boys team capped off their undefeated season with a state championship while the Oldham County girls team won their first state championship in program history. 

  • Rapid Reaction: Louisville rolls...

    Louisville had plenty to be weary of in their noon contest against NC State, considering their sluggish win over Duke last Friday and the Wolfpack’s impressive performance, albeit a loss, to Clemson last week, but the Cardinals quickly dismissed any thought of doubt in their annual homecoming game.

  • South football wins district

    Their heart had been questioned days leading up to game, but South Oldham was able to outlast North Bullitt’s feverish comeback to win its fifth-consecutive district championship.  In an interview with WDRB earlier in the week, North Bullitt quarterback Andrew Brown said his team had more heart than the undefeated Dragons, which didn’t sit well with host South Oldham.

  • Soccer: First round of Region...

    It was a successful night of soccer for all four teams in Oldham County competing in the first round of the Region Eight tournament. The Oldham County High School boys and girls team, North Oldham boys and South Oldham girls all won to advance to the regional semi-final games on Tuesday night.
