GOSHEN – North Oldham’s second-quarter performance Thursday led to what coach Dan Pfaff called “a fiery halftime speech.”

The Lady Mustangs were out-scored 17-9 in the second period by Lanesville (Ind.) and went into halftime trailing 28-27 on their home floor.

“We could play better than the way we were playing,” Pfaff said. “I thought our defense in the second quarter was not very good.

  • Girls Basketball: South falls at...

SHELBYVILLE – Using their size advantage from the opening tip the Shelby County Rockets put South Oldham away early in rolling to a 58-45 region win Tuesday.

“We talked about it and talked about it over Christmas break, about being able to do that when we could,” Shelby coach Jason Holland said. “I think we actually started it back in the Anderson game when we only shot five 3’s and got so much inside. The girls may have realized if we can that to a team like Anderson we can do it against any team in the region.”
