  • Colonels run past Braves in...

    BUCKNER – The Oldham County Colonels celebrated senior night and homecoming with a 49-22 rout of district foe Grant County Friday.

    Senior quarterback Chad Dennis had a big game on the ground, leading the Colonels with 91 yards and two scores with most of his gains coming from behind guards Matt Hogue and Nate Prater and tackle Andrew Avery.

  • Area teams win local and state...

    It was a busy week for local cross country runners as the elementary and middle school teams began preparing for the state meet in Lexington in three weeks.

    At the middle school level, North Oldham swept the South Oldham state tune-up meet with the boys scoring 40 points compared to runner up Meyzeek’s 57.

    The NOMS girls scored 36 points to edge East Oldham with 39.

  • North fights off South

    CRESTWOOD – Andrew Tuller made up for his mistake.

    Tuller, a senior, came back from a mistake that led to a South Oldham interception with a clutch second half performance to help NOHS edge SOHS 35-27 Friday.

    “I totally ran the wrong route, really messed up and they intercepted it,” Tuller said. “I knew I had to make up for it in the second half.”

  • Colonels get out of gate in upset

    GEORGETOWN – After getting thumped soundly in their two previous games against ranked 6A teams the Oldham County Colonels showed just how far they have come with a 24-17 upset of Scott County Friday.

    The Cardinals, ranked No. 6, beat OCHS 48-14 last season under former OCHS head coach Jim McKee.

  • North brings home cup

    GOSHEN – The North Oldham boys’ golf team saw their cup runneth over as the Mustangs won the Oldham County Cup last week and took fifth in the regional Monday at Nevel Meade Golf Course.

    The Mustangs will also send junior Alex Foley to the state tournament next week in Bowling Green.
