    PROSPECT – When he was 13, Neal Deaves crewed his first sailboat with a neighbor and he’s been on the water ever since.

    Deaves, a Centerfield resident, then crewed a boat built by his father on the Delaware River outside Philadelphia to begin a lifelong love with the sport that has grown to include his whole family.

    CRESTWOOD – South Oldham’s Jacob Law kept it in the family Saturday taking the title of the Dragon Invitational cross country meet.

    Law won the race with a time of 16:05 holding off a pair of St. X runners who finished seven and 17 seconds behind him respectively.

    BUCKNER – Jacob Kemper’s game was so good, he even scored on a header.

    Kemper, an Oldham County High School senior, scored four goals Monday as the Colonels beat Eastern 4-0 in the opening round of the regional tournament.

  • Harmony wins Capitol View meet

    FRANKFORT – The Harmony Elementary girls took team honors while Goshen’s Logan Otter scored his first individual title of the season at the Capitol View cross country meet Saturday.

    Harmony, led by Erin Edmondson’s fourth place finish, scored 67 points to beat Sayers with 78 and Goshen with 83 points. Goshen was led by Nicole Grendi in 14th place.

  • Colonels run past Braves in...

    BUCKNER – The Oldham County Colonels celebrated senior night and homecoming with a 49-22 rout of district foe Grant County Friday.

    Senior quarterback Chad Dennis had a big game on the ground, leading the Colonels with 91 yards and two scores with most of his gains coming from behind guards Matt Hogue and Nate Prater and tackle Andrew Avery.
