    Behind a stellar pitching performance by Will Moriarty and a small-ball approach, South Oldham baseball defeated North Oldham 4-2 Monday night in Crestwood. Moriarty pitched a complete game, allowing three hits, three walks and one earned run while striking out 11 hitters. Cam Revolt went 1 for 2 and scored two runs for South Oldham.

    While Oldham County softball waited for the big inning offensively to come, Allison Vialpando pitched her best game of the season. The freshman threw a no-hitter and the Lady Colonels scored 10 runs in the final two innings as Oldham County defeated North Oldham 10-0 to improve to 3-0 in district play.

    After North Oldham defeated Oldham County 5-2 Monday night in the first district 29 game of the season, the Colonels returned the favor with a 4-0 win Wednesday in Buckner. Tyler Morrison pitched a complete-game one-hitter to help the Colonels split the regular season series. The junior also did damage at the plating, hitting a solo home run and driving in another run on a single.

    South Oldham girls lacrosse earned its second win of the season in a tightly contest game against host Oldham County on Thursday night. Five different Lady Dragons scored goals in the 14-10 victory.

    South Oldham placed fifth with 51 points while Oldham County 50 finished sixth with 50 points. North Oldham placed eighth with 41 points.

    100 meter dash- Jalen Moore earned four points for Oldham County with a fifth place finish after running in 11.65. South Oldham’s Trey Garrison placed eighth.

  • Mother of OCHS softball player...

    Pam Sowell, mother of Oldham County High School softball player DeLaney Sowell, passed away in her sleep while on the team's spring break trip in Florida last Thursday. 

    Sowell was the team's booster representative and managed concessions over the past four years. Her husband, JM Sowell, is an assistant coach for the Lady Colonels.

  • Pickleball spreads into Oldham...

    Bill and Karen Hopkins have moved around preaching their own gospel, the sport of pickleball. The two introduced Oldham County to the sport several years ago when they arrived and now help to run a group that plays four days a week at the La Grange Community Center.
