    BUCKNER – It’s Derby week and the Oldham County Colonels decided to run.

    Taking advantage of what North Oldham gave them, the OCHS baseball team clinched the top seed in the district tourney Tuesday as they literally ran by the Mustangs for an 11-6 win.

    LOUISVILLE – From group efforts involving families to raising money for charity in super hero costumes, there were plenty of Oldham County residents among the more than 12,000 runners in the Kentucky Derby Festival mini-marathon Saturday.

    The biggest group was a crew of runners from the Centerfield Elementary School cross country program that included parents, members of the team and the coaching staff.

    CRESTWOOD – Former South Oldham High School and Eastern Kentucky University football player Keith Joseph is holding the KJ Fundamental Football Clinic from 6 to 8 p.m. May 19-23 at Tom Sawyer State Park.

    The clinic is non-contact and open to players ages 7-14. Players will be grouped in age groups.

    The registration deadline is May 9.

  • Kentucky Karma coming to South...

    CRESTWOOD – The Kentucky Karma are coming back to Oldham County.

    The Karma, a women’s professional football team, will play the Chatanooga Locomotion at 7 p.m., May 10 at South Oldham High School.

    The game will feature two of of the stronger teams in the National Women’s Football Association.
