  • Anchorage marathon is official

I signed up for the Mayor’s Marathon in Anchorage, Alaska yesterday. No turning back now. I’ve paid my $70 for my race t-shirt that I’ll receive when I cross the finish line (race shirts are expensive because they come with lots of smiles when you wear them weeks after the race and remember what you did, and where you went to get them).

The Oldham County Grand Slam starts with the Roman Road 5K May 30. Have you signed up? Go ahead and register. It’ll get you mentally ready and motivated.

    To register, go to  www.OCGrandSlam.com.

  • Sterrett no-hits South in...

Sterrett allowed just one baserunner, in the fourth inning when he hit his close friend Daniel Pulliam in the helmet with an errant curveball.

“That’s OK, it was Daniel,” Sterrett joked. “I figured I could give him one. If I was going to hit someone it might as well been him.”

  • OCHS’ Larsen sweeps...

LOUISVILLE – David Larsen didn’t have a bad day this year.

Larsen, an Oldham County High School senior, swept the hurdles titles at the regional meet to help the Colonels to a third place finish as a team.

“I was hopeful I could get both,” Larsen said. “Last year I just had a bad day at the regionals. This year, I did more work coming in so that I could try my hardest and even if I did have a bad day I would still have a chance.”
