    LEXINGTON – The Oldham County Trailblazers, an independent girls’ elementary and middle school cross country team, closed their season with a bang by notching a perfect score in the open division of the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Meet of Champions in Lexington Saturday.

    “They loved the experience,” NOHS coach Aaron Jones said. “We told them going in they had nothing to lose and everything to gain and they went out and enjoyed themselves and played pretty well.”

    JEFFERSONTOWN – The Oldham County Colonels left no doubt about the district crown Friday rolling to a 42-14 win over Jeffersontown.

    The Colonels, 7-2 and ranked No. 8 in 5A, completed a perfect 4-0 district run.

    MT. WASHINGTON – Dominating the net and playing with confidence, the North Oldham High School Lady Mustangs upset Oldham County in two games to win the regional title Thursday.

    The win avenged two losses to OCHS this year.

    GOSHEN – The push for respect continued Friday as the North Oldham Mustangs beat Western Hills 17-7 to clinch the district football title.

    The Mustangs did it in their usual, workman-like manner, pounding the ball on the ground behind an underrated offensive line that has delivered game after game in the Mustangs’ 8-0 season.

    PROSPECT – When he was 13, Neal Deaves crewed his first sailboat with a neighbor and he’s been on the water ever since.

    Deaves, a Centerfield resident, then crewed a boat built by his father on the Delaware River outside Philadelphia to begin a lifelong love with the sport that has grown to include his whole family.

  • South Oldham's Law captures...

    CRESTWOOD – South Oldham’s Jacob Law kept it in the family Saturday taking the title of the Dragon Invitational cross country meet.

    Law won the race with a time of 16:05 holding off a pair of St. X runners who finished seven and 17 seconds behind him respectively.
