  • Training for the cure

GOSHEN – Pauline Morris celebrated her first day of retirement with a training walk at Seneca Park.

It’s all par for the course for Morris, who retired as a special education teacher at Oldham County High School this week, as she trains to walk a half-marathon for the Team in Training program.

“I have been training since May,” Morris said. “It’s a light day and I have to keep going.”

  • SON tourney is one tough test...

GOSHEN – This year’s SON tourney brought a little bit of everything soccer had to offer.

From it’s top-ranked field to South Oldham coach Cy Tucker’s state record 301st win to Lexington Catholic’s minor 4-1 upset of Highlands in the finals.

In beating Oldham County and Elizabethtown, the No. 12 ranked South Oldham Lady Dragons gave Cy Tucker his 300th and 301st career wins.

Tucker said the E-town win was big for early in the season. SOHS won on a goal from Marissa Williams.

  • Mr. 300 reigns

CRESTWOOD – Even though it was a bit cloudy after Cy Tucker got his 300th career win as the coach of the South Oldham High School girls’ soccer team, his sunglasses stayed on during a post-game celebration with players and parents.

    But there’s a reason.
