    The Dragons are off to a hot start with stingy defense and solid at-bats with its most recent win coming in a 9-0 home shutout over Bullitt East on Monday.

    That win gave South Oldham its third shutout this season and its fourth game with more than eight runs scored for a 5-1 record.

    BUCKNER — A new-look North Oldham softball team is putting aside the idea that 2016 is a rebuilding year. The Lady Mustangs extended their win streak to five with a solid day at the plate in a 9-5 victory at Oldham County Tuesday.

    The win for North Oldham (5-1, 2-0 District 29) was just the school’s third win over Oldham County and the first for the Lady Mustangs on the road in Buckner.

    North now has sole possession of first place in District 29 with the win over Oldham County (7-3, 1-1).

    Padilla finished first in the girls 200 meter dash in 27.85 and won the 300 meter hurdles in 50.15.

    Evan Charles won the 300 meter hurdles in 41.68 for the Oldham County boys team and Cameron finished third in the boys high jump.
