    The high school basketball season is a month old, which makes it a good time to review how things have gone so far for the six county schools.

    December saw the South Oldham debut of girls coach Jessica Conner and head coaching debut of North Oldham’s Rob Burton.

    The month saw Oldham County’s boys come up just short in their bid to win the Best in Hoops Tournament and North’s boys edge South in the championship of the Coach Bob Classic.

  • Football: North back Beasley...

    North Oldham wingback Arien Beasley was selected as one of the state’s best running backs last week after a standout 2014 season.

    Beasley was named a third-team all-state running back by the Courier-Journal.

    Beasley received the honor after rushing for 1,649 yards and 31 touchdowns this season on just 157 attempts.

    The senior also caught 31 passes for 441 yards and four touchdowns.

    His 212 points this season were a school record.

    Beasley is being recruited right now across several levels of college football.

    CRESTWOOD – Rob Burton spent Sunday night preaching patience to his North Oldham team.

    The Mustangs trailed throughout most of their matchup with South Oldham in the championship game of the Dragons’ Coach Bob Classic. South had controlled the game by shooting the ball well and keeping North’s offense in check.

    But Burton reasoned that eventually the Dragons would miss a few shots and that his team would start hitting its own.
